SDG7 Localisation Snapshots
SDG7 Localisation Snapshots are short publications on the results of cities’ self-assessments regarding their capacity and availability of policies, actions and resources for supporting SDG7 localisation. The Snapshots present key results of the data analysis in several charts to give a concise overview of the SDG7 Localisation status in a city or sub-national jurisdiction, followed by high-level recommendations tailored to the local context. These results are determined by the answers to the SDG7 Localisation tool and the resulting scores for several SDG7 Localisation indicators and sub-indicators. These snapshot reports can be used by jurisdictions as a starting point for sustainable energy policies and project development, as well as a baseline to track their future progress of their efforts in support of SDG7 Localisation.
SDG7 City Roadmap
SDG7 City Roadmaps provide an overview of key data, scenarios, assumptions, as well technological and policy-oriented pathways, as well as related recommendations to support sustainable energy transition and contribution to the achievement of SDG7 at the local level. The Roadmaps are prepared for cities or sub-national jurisdictions selected for a deep dive support from ESCAP using the adaptation of the National Expert SDG7 Tool for Energy Planning (NEXSTEP). NEXSTEP uses the Low Emission Analysis Platform (LEAP) for modelling sustainable energy transition scenarios.
Integrated Urban Sustainable Energy Solution Case Studies
This is a collection of case studies on urban solutions that cover more than one energy consuming sector (such as buildings, industry, transport and others), or target multiple SDG7 targets or several different SDGs besides SDG7. Each case study contains various aspects of the solution, which might be useful for other cities to learn from, namely: technology applications and benefits, applied business models, local and national policy frameworks, integration of energy into urban planning and financing models, implementation steps, implementation partners, key results, and outputs, as well as pre-conditions, success factors, and challenges in the implementation of the project.
SDG7 Localisation E-learning Program
E-learning programme on SDG7 localisation is a joint product between ESCAP and United Cities and Local governments Asia Pacific (UCLG ASPAC). This e-learning programme is a virtual space for deepening knowledge of local and sub-national governments and other relevant stakeholders on the key aspects of the SDG7 localisation process and enhancing their capacity to identify areas for improvements in their cities and provinces as well as to develop effective policies, design projects and build partnerships to accelerate implementation of SDG7.
